Experience the thrill of meeting and hand-feeding beautiful and majestic alpacas while strolling through their paddocks and home. It's an intimate encounter that will truly leave you in awe!

Upon arrival you will be greeted by our female alpacas who are eagerly awaiting you to hand feed them their favourite hay. As they chew from your hand, your guide, the owner, will introduce you to each alpaca and describe their individual personality.

You will then meet and hand feed our ducks - they love green peas. Learn how the ducks protect our alpacas.

The boy alpacas are up next as you hand feed them you will learn about breeding and even see a trick,

Willow, our rescue Vietnamese Pot Bellied pig will be begging for attention and we will play a game of hide and seek with her. You won't believe how smart she is!

We will end the tour meeting our two rescue horses, hearing their story, hand feeding their favourite treats and even learning about orthotics in horses. Have you ever seen a horses hoof up close?

Additional Information & Policies

We are a sanctuary and the well being of our animals and your happiness is our top priority.

That’s why our visits are private with a limit of 5 people (up to 8 with an additional charge). We only offer 1 to 2 visits per day so our alpacas are always happy to see you.

We are not a petting zoo. We do not offer alpaca walks. Our animals are never tethered to people they do not know. You will still have a blast as you hand feed and spend quality time with them in their natural environment. No stress for you or the animals at Brae Ridge Sanctuary.

Brae Ridge is a forever home and sanctuary for our herd. We never sell our animals, we love them and always put their best interests first;.

Cancellation Policy:

4 -14 days before scheduled visit - 50% refund.
More than 14 days notice - 90% refund (to cover our fees).

We do not offer refunds or reschedules for “no-shows” or cancelled tours with less then 4 days

notice of your scheduled session.

All proceeds from our visits go directly to the care of our herd and to provide forever homes to rescued animals.

Dogs and other pets are not permitted during the farm visits due to safety and biosecurity risks.

Please note that there are no public restroom facilities available on the premises. We recommend planning accordingly prior to your visit.

Visits last approximately 90 minutes.
Visits are mostly outdoors with an opportunity to visit our workshop at the end of the tour to learn about how the alpaca’s beautiful fibre is processed. Please dress appropriately for the weather, tours are held in the rain and snow.
A maximum of 8 people per visit is allowed. Once you have selected your date/time, you will be prompted to enter the number of guests in your party in another window. Please note that the fee is per group, not per person and there is an additional charge for groups of more than 5.
All visits must be reserved ahead of time. We cannot accommodate any walk-ins. Please ensure that you have chosen a date from the calendar above and completed your payment.
We cannot accommodate any additional visits. We limit the number of visits per day to ensure that you have the best visit possible and the alpacas do not get over stimulated with visitors. To be added to a waitlist in cases of cancellation, please fill out the adjacent form.
We are open for visitors all year-round! All available dates are listed in the calendar above. We have limited availability and most weekends are reserved very quickly. If the calendar shows “No appointments are available this month” we are completely booked.
Although we have a deep love and appreciation for all animals, we unfortunately cannot permit pets to join you during your visit. This policy is in place to ensure the safety of our cherished alpacas and other animals, as well as to uphold biosecurity standards that protect everyone involved.
